This isn't in any way, shape or form unexpeted from the Catholic Church. Despite being a bastion of tradtion, history, knowledge, art, culture and maybe even wisdom, it is still also a bastion for religious conservatism and prejudece. Quite sad since it has so much potential to change for world for the better. One could argue I guess that considering that the church itself isn't a sentient etitiy it can't "Hate" anything. But doctrine and the majority feeling is largely anti-homosexual. |

Original Latin bible are supposedly indifferent towards gays this might not be true it wouldn't surprise me either way though. |

And I do believe that the book in question was written prior to the middle ages and Catholicism. |
